Cycling 11 days / 10 nights - Ho Chi Minh City to Angkor Wat (Vietnam - Cambodia)

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City (D)
Our guide will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Once settled, your bike will be adjusted to your preferences, and we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant in the city. You’ll stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be 45km (L, D)
We’ll rendezvous at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and have a quick transfer to Cai Lay. Then, we’ll take back roads to Cai Be, where we’ll board a boat to the island. We’ll visit local artisans and watch coconut candy making, rice paper making, and popcorn/puffed rice making. Afterward, we’ll enjoy lunch on the island before heading to our homestay, run by a lovely retired couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bay. The Bays live in a traditional Mekong Delta house with airy rooms and an outdoor kitchen. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon free to bike around the homestay.

Day 3: Cai Be – Vinh Long – Tra Vinh 60km+ (B, L)
After breakfast with the Bays, we’ll take a short boat trip to Vinh Long, one of the most famous fruit towns in the Mekong. In Vinh Long, we’ll bike along narrow country lanes through tiny orchards and colorful riverside life. You’ll stay overnight in Tra Vinh.

Day 4: Tra Vinh – Can Tho 80km+ (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll start the day with a ride through the pretty tree-lined town of Tra Vinh. We’ll cycle off-road onto gravel and dirt lanes, weaving through villages, crossing water channels, and passing through quiet, dense vegetation. The route to Can Tho is special, as Khmer people populate much of the area. The regional architecture is fascinating, with many Khmer temples along the way. You’ll stay overnight in Can Tho.

Day 5: Can Tho – Long Xuyen 75km+ (B, L)
Today’s ride is split into two sections, providing a contrast to the previous day’s ride. After an early breakfast, you’ll take a boat trip to the famous Cai Rang floating market. Then, we’ll cycle on a narrow, paved road to Phong Dien before a short transfer to Long Xuyen. You’ll stay overnight in Long Xuyen.

Day 6: Long Xuyen – Chau Doc 80km+ (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we’ll have a quick transfer to Triton. From there, we’ll begin cycling toward Chau Doc. The road is quite hilly but offers beautiful scenery. The presence of Thot Not trees signals our proximity to Cambodia, and you may hear locals speaking Vietnamese as a second language. We’ll arrive in the afternoon. Those with extra energy can climb Sam Mountain for a stunning sunset view. You’ll enjoy dinner and stay overnight in Chau Doc.

Day 7: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh (B)
We’ll depart early for a boat journey up the Mekong River to Phnom Penh. After boarding at the Chau Doc pier, you’ll cruise up the Bassac River for approximately 1.5 hours to the Cambodian border. Your guide will assist with immigration. You’ll stay overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 8: Phnom Penh – Kompong Thom 90km (B, L)
In the morning, we’ll head north on National Road N5 (past the ancient Japanese bridge) and travel through the Cambodian countryside. After 12 km, we’ll arrive at Prek Phnov and take unpaved roads through villages and rice fields. We’ll stop at Udong Mountain, home to the remains of old royal palaces. You’ll stay overnight in a basic Cambodian accommodation in Kompong Thom.

Day 9: Kompong Thom – Siem Reap 100km (B, L)
After a short transfer toward Siem Reap, we’ll begin the day’s cycle. We’ll head to the small town of Stoung (45 km from Kompong Thom) and bike approximately 100 km toward the city of temples. The road offers some shade beneath palm trees as we pass Preah Pros Lake and Kompong Svay district. You’ll stay overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 10: Full Day in Angkor Wat 30km (B, L)
You’ll have a full day to explore the Angkor Wat temple complex. Angkor Wat is one of the most well-preserved and impressive temples in the region. Climbing the steep and narrow steps of the central spire offers a breathtaking view of the temple surrounded by jungle. You’ll stay overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 11: Siem Reap Departure (B)
You’ll have some leisure time in Siem Reap until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
