BIKING full day HO CHI MINH CITY (Saigon)
Brief Itinerary:30km cycling (L)
We’ll start our trip with a ride to Chinatown with stops at Cholon and Binh Tay markets to see locals bartering for wares. We’ll also stop off at the Thien Hau temple, which was built in the early 19th Century in dedication to Thien Hau, the goddess of seafarers. Then, we’ll stop at a local café for a coffee to watch the hectic pace of life pass by in Ho Chi Minh City. Following our market visit, we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch of "Pho" or some other Vietnamese cuisine. Afterward, we’ll ride to visit some famous HCMC landmarks. Our first stop will be to visit the War Remnants Museum, which was originally opened in September 1975; it displays old military equipment and other related items from the Vietnam War. In the courtyard, we will find some larger exhibits including a F5A fighter and a UH1-Huey helicopter. We’ll also see the Reunification Palace, formerly known as the Presidential Palace, which was the sight of South Vietnam's surrender in April 1975. The Notre Dame Cathedral is next on our list followed by the General Post Office and the Opera House. All of these are beautiful examples of architecture from the French colonial period. This one-day trip will provided insights into the history, culture and the daily life activities of the locals in Ho Chi Minh City.
