BIKING 3days/2night ANGKOR WAT
Brief Itinerary:
Day 1: Angkor Circuit 25+km (L)
In the morning, we’ll depart from the hotel as a group. We’ll take the main road and cycle to the Angkor Wat complex, where you will first see the Kravan Wat and the Banteay Kdei. Then, we’ll enjoy lunch at the foot of the famous Ta Phrom, which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and overgrown vegetation.
Day 2: Rolous Group & Tonle Sap Lake 50+km (B, L, D)
Our second day will begin with a trip to Rolous Group, the first capital of the Angkor Empire during 800 A.D. We’ll take rural paths, and enjoy views of rice fields and villages in the countryside along the way. Afterward, we’ll visit some pre-Angkorian temples including Preak Ko, Bakong and Lo Lei. In the afternoon, we’ll cycle to Tonle Sap Lake.
Day 3: Banteay Srei & Landmines Museum 70km (B, L)
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll take the main road and cycle west for about 2km to Angkor Wat. Vietnam Bike Tours’ll then take a rural road to see the rice fields, villages, and pagodas of the countryside on our way to Banteay Srei. While some temples are impressive because of their sheer size, Banteay Srei stands alone in the quality of its construction and decoration. Its pink sandstone walls are decorated with what some consider to be the best-preserved carvings. We will take some time to admire the temple, and will enjoy a picnic lunch on site.
